Also an easy read!! 5 star!! : Okay I have to take the time to write a review of this book because of it's incredible ability to hold your interest from page 1 to the very end!! David Kinnan, right off the bat, with his wit, wisdom and authenticity, drags you into the book so deeply that you won't be able to put it down! He not only gets your attention, he HOLDS your attention!! I'm soooooo serious!!! He doesn't write with flowered up, foo-foo words and phrases that take away from the heart and soul of this book. He's honest, authentic, down-to-earth, easily relatable, humorous and gets to the nitty gritty right off the bat and keeps it up for all the chapters. Whether it be in a sermon at church or now, in this book. This book and Davids discussions on showing up and caring for others and it's importance is one that all of us (Christian or not) need to consider. Recently, my spiritual heart has been experiencing lots of highs and lows. David brings to light many points that are helping me to understand how having a healthy and strong spiritual heart really is the key to a happy life. David discusses unconditional love, choosing to care, and letting ourselves run to others and how it relates to our spiritual hearts- and this has been essential for me lately. The workbook questions in the book also helped me to really think deeply about the messages David was trying to convey and how it all relates to my life and my relationship with God. The message about placing intentions on things in our lives is one that I think all of us can relate to. In a world where there seems to always be some type of string attached or expectation- knowing our God and how He would never do such a thing to us and is the master of forgiveness lets us know that unconditional love is the best love. The best way to experience God is to show up and keep showing up, and that is the main takeaway that I get from David's words in this book. The importance of knowing what a counterfeit Christian with a lukewarm faith is and how that is not how He intends for us to live our lives is so important to living a fulfilled life with the heart of Jesus.
